Course Synopsis: Molecular Microbiology is the branch of microbiology devoted to the study of the molecular principles of the physiological processes involved in the life cycle of prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms. This course will provide students with an in-depth knowledge of microbiology at the molecular level.

Upon completion of this MOOC course, the participants will demonstrate the ability to:

1. Describe the evolution of virulence for the many cases link to pathogens.

2. Describe the mechanistic aspects of pathogenesis to evolutionary aspects of virulence.

3. Demonstrate a series of test to identify the medically important microbes that might be the potential cause of certain diseases.

4. Compare the scientific basis of traditional and current “omics” technology in microbiological concepts.

5. Distinguish the different types of interactions among microbial community and between host cells.

Brief description of experiences / presentation submitted: All lectures are uploaded in pdf and uploaded in SMARTUMS. Recorded lectures are uploaded in Youtube. Links for reading are provided. Forum for discussion is created via SMARTUMS. WhatsApp group is used for reaching out students' inquiries. Telegram is used to upload lecture materials. Online quizzes are conducted to retain students' attention during class. Googlemeet is used as online lecture platform in replace of F2F lecture.
