Course Synopsis: This course aims to provide an overall idea of the scope of international business in comparison to domestic business. Students will analyze the international business environments to determine the opportunities, challenges, and complexities faced by firms operating in the international arena. Moreover, students will conduct a country analysis to identify the similarities and differences between countries and determine the opportunities and risks of a specific country. Appropriate entry strategies for companies that plan to go international will also be identified and discussion on how companies that operate internationally are managed is included.

Course Synopsis: This course starts with the basic concepts of computers, the related technologies, and current issues. Then, the students will be trained on how to use the application software to create professional and industry standard business documents, spreadsheets, presentations and databases.

Course Learning Outcome: Solve business and finance calculations using a spreadsheet software (PLO6, C3)

Brief description of presentation submitted: This submission contains two multimedia guided assignments (MGAs) that serves two purposes, first, as a reference as it contains screencast videos, animated GIFs and narrative notes for the students; and second, as an assignment question for the students to complete and submit before the deadline.

Lecturer's activity

  1. During PKP, students are required to learn on their own Microsoft Excel at home instead of attending face to face classes. By taking consideration of students who are having Internet difficulties, I have decided to choose an asynchronous method of delivery and use videos, animated GIFs and graphics, all composed into an assignment question, called a multimedia guided assignment (MGA). Therefore, students have the opportunity to learn and to practice using Microsoft Excel at the same time.

  2. In this submission, I am sharing two MGAs which are written using Google Docs for easy sharing and updating.

  3. I then, shared the link for each MGA through Telegram app. I have been using Telegram since the start of the semester even before PKP for interaction with the students easily.

Course Synopsis: This course is designed to integrate related theories with real world applications and provide students with the basic knowledge which serves as a cohesive map for strategic management. It focuses on how firms formulate, implement, evaluate strategies and other aspects related to emerging national and international trends that have a significant impact to the organizational survival and success. Students will use all the knowledge acquired from prior courses and strategic management techniques learned to chart the direction of different organization in the related case studies.

Brief description of presentation submitted: Sharing of experiences on Teaching & Learning Online during the MCO

Lecturer's activity

  1. Screencast-o-matic, Powerpoint and lumen were used to create the video lessons and uploaded in youtube. Subsequently, the youtube videos were embedded in SMARTv3 and Google Classroom.

  2. The video lecture is usually a short video of about 5 – 15 minutes, so as to enable students to grasp the content of the lesson effectively.

  3. Assessments were done through the padlet where the lecturer can evaluate students’ answers and grade them accordingly. Suggested answers were also provided and the students can compare their answers and learned from there. Feedback to their answers were also posted in Google Classroom and linked to SMARTv3.

  4. Discussion boards were posted for students to discuss the assignments and questions related to the respective chapters. The lecturer replies to the comments within 24 hours.

  5. Class attendance was done via Google Classroom attendance. A file on attendance was created for student to confirm their attendance. A report on the attendance can be generated which is saved in the google drive – google classroom folder.

Course Synopsis: This course is intended to introduce students to concepts and the discipline of microeconomics that will enable them to understand and analyze structure and performance of the market economy.

The five key principles of economics – the principle of opportunity cost, the marginal principle, the principle of diminishing returns, the principle of voluntary exchange, and the real-nominal principle - are addressed and applied repeatedly in different circumstances. The course starts with providing a foundation for more detailed study of individual decision-making and markets. After a brief introduction, the course proceeds with a closer look at supply and demand, including elasticity, government intervention in the market and consumer choice.

Following this, the course explores the production and costs, setting the stage for an examination of alternative market structures, including the extremes of perfect competition and monopoly, as well as the middle ground of monopolistic competition and oligopoly. These market structures will focus on its fundamental theories and its application.

Learning Outcome 1: Identify basic microeconomic theories and concepts thus enable students to give examples of the theories and concepts learned.

Course Synopsis: This module focuses on both strategic issues as well as practical applications of operations management [OM] various tools and models. OM is crucial element of any system that deals with the production of goods and services within all industries, regardless of manufacturing, retail distribution, and government services. The objective of OM is to provide value to the customer by means of tracking down of both effectiveness and efficiency. Thus OM is an essential knowledge across all functional business operations and financial management study. Among the topics are managing demands planning through

forecasting, manufacturing and service proves structures, capacity planning, management of project and project control, inventory control and resources planning. Quantitative and qualitative tools will also be discussed in addressing the major decision making areas of manufacturing and servicing operations i.e. operational area of linear programming models, queuing models, analyzing product design and constraints management, break-even analysis (cost-volume analysis), supply chain performance, location and layout strategy, quality management and statistical process control.
